Early in my career as a registered nurse, I made the acquaintance of a strikingly passionate woman: Clair Farr. Clair was on a mission to develop the cleanest and most efficacious nutritional supplements available. This was her commitment to excellence for the nutritionally aware.

As part of her more natural approach to wellness, she changed her diet and lifestyle and began to experiment with nutritional supplements

Her quest began as a highly personal need. In mid-life, Clair developed debilitating allergies and environmental sensitivities. Attempts at conventional medical approaches left her no better, and in many cases, worse. So, she set out on an alternative path. As part of her more natural approach to wellness, she changed her diet and lifestyle and began to experiment with nutritional supplements. Unfortunately, many of the supplement options at the time were manufactured with low-quality ingredients replete with allergens, fillers, and tableting agents. Not only were these products ineffective, but they also exacerbated her symptoms. She knew there had to be a better way and set out to do just that.

With no scientific background, Clair faced a daunting challenge. But it didn’t deter her. In 1969, she reset the expectations for nutraceutical products: potent, pharmaceutical grade quality formulations with no additives, artificial ingredients, or potential allergens. And the medical community responded. She was truly a visionary.

I had the great pleasure to work side by side with Clair Farr as she built her company into one of the most well-respected professional brands on the market. And I can say with confidence, she would be utterly delighted with both the continuing commitment to her founding philosophy and the extraordinary technological investments made by Soho Flordis International (SFI) to keep her passion for purity, potency, and performance alive and well today.

Having watched the company mature over the years, it is personally gratifying for me to witness the brand unification of ProThera and Complementary Prescriptions under the Klaire Labs umbrella and guiding principles. And as we approach the 50th anniversary of Clair’s bold and impassioned undertaking, I can’t help but think how proud she would be.
