NAC Position Statement
Last year the FDA asserted in warning letters to seven companies that NAC couldn’t be lawfully marketed as a dietary supplement because it was first studied and approved as a drug in 1963. The warning letters were sent out to companies after the FDA reviewed their websites and determined they were using prohibited language in their marketing claims.
